Skin Care Products FAQs
FAQS
What is the difference between organic and natural skin care?
Natural skin care products are not regulated by any governing body.
According to label requirements, any ingredient that is deemed natural
has not been significantly altered from its original state and no other
substances have been added to it. However, the ingredients in organic
products are much more stringently monitored by a number of organizations
and must be free of pesticides and herbicides.
What are some reasons to shop for organic skin care products?
Organic skin care products are generally more expensive than traditional
products. However, consumers prefer them because they do not want to
put products with synthetic or chemical ingredients into their bodies.
Also, environmentally minded consumers shop for natural ingredients
because farmers that grow them use sustainable living practices.
Will I experience side effects if I use a prescription acne skin care
treatment?
You may experience uncomfortable side effects with a prescription drug
such as Retin-A. Patients have been known to see redness of the face
and peeling of the skin. However, this usually only lasts for the first
month and then problematic acne disappears. Consult your doctor if uncomfortable
side effects last longer than expected.
