Pregnancy skin care
Pregnancy skin care requires you to read the labels of
skincare products to make sure they do not harm your unborn child. Expectant
mothers always pay attention to what goes in their body when they eat.
But did you know that what you put on your body can be just as important?
One of the central tenets of pregnancy skin care is that everything
that goes in your body affects the fetus. Since lotions can be absorbed
through the skin, you have to be sure you avoid chemicals that could
harm your baby. Try to shop at stores where a pharmacist or beautician
can advise you on the effects of skincare products.
One example of a potentially harmful substance is a retinoid. This
can be found in anti-aging moisturizers and contains vitamin A. Unfortunately,
large doses of vitamin A have been shown in some studies to adversely
affect unborn children. Talk to your doctor for more information about
pregnancy skin care before using any products.
