Eye cream
Eye cream has long been used by the female population
to reduce bags under the eyes. In 2003 The TV show Queer Eye for the
Straight Guy introduced the male population to the importance of eye
cream. The show's resident skincare artist stressed how eye cream could
keep men looking young and more appealing to the opposite sex.
Several laugh out loud episodes featured makeovers of men acquiring
eye cream. Traditional stereotypical males including hunters, fishermen,
and young bachelors spent time in day spas and got touchups under the
eyes. Product placement was key: manufacturers vied with each other
to have their eye care creams used.
The lessons taught by the show still apply today. The skin around the
eye is extremely thin and delicate and as we get older stress and sun
exposure can contribute to wrinkles and fine lines. Using eye cream
is an important preventative measure to protect this sensitive part
of our body.
